Community Corner

I will continue to work hard for every resident of Ward 4 and for all the people of King Township to ensure that we continue to enjoy a great place to live, work, and play.  Here are some key priorities to move forward to continue to enhance our township together.

	Economic Development Commercial/Industrial Tax Base - a broader tax base and priority spending will lead to better services for the people of King Township - greater employment opportunities in our communities will help make us more sustainable while merging ecology with economy
	Growth Management - Development must respect our rural roots and community character while addressing specific community needs like Senior’s housing - Update Community Plans to reflect sustainable community requirements and support community improvement plans and priorities - Development must achieve a balance between Residential and/Commercial/Industrial
	Recreational Enhancements - Further develop a range of recreational, health and fitness programs to meet the needs of all age groups in our community from pre-school to seniors - Develop and implement a strategy to promote and increase physical activity and healthy lifestyle - Work to enhance facilities to support programs and community needs
	Asset Management of Roads/Facilities - Capital projects must be well managed and strategically implemented - Keeping costs down while maintaining and enhancing our assets must be a priority
	Quality Assurance - Maintaining and enhancing optimal service levels in all municipal departments - Ensuring tax dollars are spent strategically and efficiently
	Government Relations - Continue to advocate partnerships with our upper levels of government to support King Township - Continue to Work with upper levels of government to influence decisions to support municipal priorities
	Public Transit Opportunities - Partnering with upper tiers of government and other municipalities to develop transportation opportunities - Working to launch the Community Bus Program which will connect our communities
